Opening of the House of Red Cedars

Hi everyone,

We are going to be opening the house of red cedars on Saturday November 8, 2008. Please if any one could volunteer, we are going to need your help. If you have not already filed for a Criminal Record Check, please do so with the RCMP. It does not cost anything cause you are having it done for a non-profit organization. Those that have please contact me. We are going to see if we can open at noon on Saturday and run til 7pm.

There is some other work that needs to be done yet, painting and organizing. We would like the kids to help also, so that they feel included. The cupboards still need to be finished painting. Sort through some games, and general set up. I look forward to hearing from you and your participation. Thank you.

TBOC’s annual appreciation dinner

was helt on Saturday, Oct18 in the Sechelt Indian Band Hall. We had a feast! Greta Picard and Cindy August handed out gratitude certificates to business and community members, who helped out with donations for the Community Unity Day and the Red Cedars House for our Youth over the last year. We had also several speakers from the community .

Thnak you for everybody who helped and prepared for this event.

Our next event will be Nov 1 – OPENING of our YOUTH NIGHT at the Red Cedar House.

Invitation to our Annual Appreciation Dinner

Please mark your calendar and come and have a beautiful dinner and share some stories, and have fun.

This is our annual dinner to give thanks to all those who have supported TBOC through the past year.

It is going to be held at the SIB hall, on Saturday, Oct 18, 2008 at 6:30.

We are having a meeting on October 6th at 7pm at the house of Red Cedars – I would like to see everyone there, and remember that membership is due in November and we will be doing membership at the appreciation dinner ($12).

Welcome to our Blog

After our summer break we (members of the TBOC society) met again on Tuesday at the Red Cedar House in Sechelt.  The Red Cedar House is currrently being cleaned and renovated and prepared to be available for Teen Nights. These Teen Nights will be open for every Teen on the Coast.

Our next clean up meet will take place on Saturday, Sept 13. Come on out if you like to help! If you cannot make it, do not worry. We want to start at 10:00 AM. Great lunch (Thank you Leah Cripps!) will be provided. She is bringing a pot of Chili and Garlic Bread for those that do come. Greta will p/u coffee and water. See you there!

Here is a reminder, that the membership cards will expire in November. They can be renewed at the Appreciation Dinner on Oct 18. The dinner will be held in appreciation for all the sponsors and helpers at our Annual May Community Unity Day, which was again a great success.
